Special Update! I got a bunch of emails on this one.. the best way to list all the details I got is to list the emails! So here they are in chronological order: First, Jen wrote in and said, "...Thought you might like to know the song that Strong Bads head plays during The Cheats cartoon is called 'Unterlanders Heimweh' - I only know this because I have the same keyboard from the 80's - it's a Casio PT-80" Thanks Jen! And then Connie wrote in, "It is entirely possible that the song is used on the aforementioned keyboard, but the keyboard being referred to is actually the Casio VL - Tone. The PT did not have the LCD read out shown in the cartoon but the VL - Tone did. " And then Patrick emailed with the MP3 link and, "Yes, I do believe it actually comes from the Casio VL-Tone VL-1 made in 1978, but that is not to say that this song is not also on the PT-80. For a pretty neat article about the VL-1, go to http://archive.keyboardonline.com/features/vintagegear/vgear0104.shtml." And then Julie A. told me, "Someone sent in something claiming that the keyboard that Strong Bad's head turns into is a PT-80. Well, it's quite obviously not - it's a Casio VL-Tone VL-1. Attatched is a photograph of mine if you want further proof. She did, however, get the demo song right. :)" And then Deo imformed me, "Hi- For email 72, someone wrote in and said strongbad's head is a casio pt-80. Its actually a Casio VL-1. http://www.unhacker.com/maximumcheesecore.html" And then, to 'seal the deal', my good friend Bohus wrote me, "In the last SB (#72), someone named Jen claims that the keyboard that SB's head turns into is a PT-80. I hate to say that I know way too much about Casio keyboards, and therefore have to tell you that it's actually a VL-Tone. It's an odd little beasty, and sort of predicts Casio's entry into the cheap keyboard market. What makes the VL-Tone especially remarkable is that it has editable synthesis, a little sequencer, and dorkiest of all - it's actually a calculator! You can see a picture here: http://www.vintagesynth.org/casio/vl1.shtml I have the Radio Shack rebadged version. Lots of people think that this was used in the Kraftwerk song "pocket calculator". It's not... but this is the synth/calc/gadget that the song is actually about. For the distinctive cheesy solo, Kraftwerk actually use a Mattel Bee Gees keyboard (they repainted it to look a little less cheesy)... and I'll scare you again by admitting that I have that keyboard as well. Jen remembers the demo being on her childhood keyboard, but Casio often used the same demo tune on several models that were produced vaguely around the same time." And then, I got too busy to keep up with everything, sorry folks! Anyway I might make a separate page for all of this as it's so long. If I missed any emails, I'm sorry they probably got spam-filtered. :) Thanks to everyone that wrote in about this! Wow!

Andrew wrote in with an interesting tid-bit, "The movie that The Cheat is watching at the end is undoubtly a reference to the cheesy 1997 Chris Thomson film "Trucks" " Thanks Andrew! Evil Dave wrote in and said that the movie could just as easily be from the 1971 Steven Spielberg classic “Duel”, although it sounds like the Brothers re-did their own version of the dialog. Thanks Dave!

Yes Homestar mis-spells sb_email.exe as sb_enail.com or something, but that is just Homestar. Also, be sure to stick around at the end to hear Homestar sing, "The Neverending Soda" hehe! (of course it's a spoof reference to the "Neverending Story" theme - thanks Daniel) Also, be sure to stick around a little longer for the rest of what Homestar says about the Mt. Dew.. Thanks Kevin C.

Secrets & Notes: |
| 1. |
At the very end be sure have your 3D glasses ready and click on the big "3D" part of the logo.
| 2. |
After the 3D spiel, be sure to click on the words "watch out" for some more 3D madness!
| 3. |
If you do not have 3D glasses, as I didn't, take an envelope with a "window" and cut the window in half. Take a red marker and color one piece red and the other piece blue.. and hold them in front of your eyes and watch it! It will be blurry and lame, but you'll get to see the effect. An Alternate method is to do the same thing on a CD case.. it is MUCH less blurry! There are also a bunch of places online that you can order 3d glasses from, or you can find some red and blue cellophane and make your own!
| 4. |
Ryan "Bubba" V., Steve M., and Nick R. wrote in with screen caps of the newspaper.. So I thought I'd post the newspaper text without the blocking fake headline.. It's mostly just nonsense.. :)
| 5. |
Steve M writes in, "Strong Bad's action star glasses in sbemail80 remind me of Litigation Jackson's from http://homestarrunner.com/xmas2002.html" At the very end of the skit, you can click BELOW "The End" to bring up the "Litigation Jackson" poster.
