ECCC Chicago Expo, Saturday and Sunday, August 29-30, 2015

From the bitter cold of the gulag, we emerge to advance the aims of justice and freedom once more! Though our landscape may change as we journey through an unforgiving world and discharges must be leveled without us, we ourselves are walking monuments to comradeship and the glorious achievements of our progenitors!

ECCC is the world's top late-summer destination for Commodore enjoyment, including the C64, Vic-20, PET, 16/Plus4, and probably even Amiga stuff. It is also the only one with comedy pseudo-Soviet rhetoric...

The Bureau of Relocation and Re-Education of the Emergency Chicagoland Commodore Convention announces Year Ten of our enduring and pansophic Five-Year Plan*, the tenth free-thinking ECCC event:

Saturday, August 29 and Sunday August 30
Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village
1000 Busse Rd
Elk Grove Village, Illinois 60007

8 AM - 11 PM Saturday

10 AM - 4 PM Sunday

Early setup TBA Friday

Facebook users can visit this link for extra ECCC Facebookery. This is entirely optional.

Early setup will be offered Friday the 28th, time TBA. The meeting room will be open during that time so that vendors and other exhibitors may, at their discretion, unload and begin setup before the event begins on Saturday. The room and building will be locked for the evening but the convention organizers offer no extra security or insurance against theft of items left in the building overnight--or at any time, for that matter!

We keep our prices low and our policies consistent to promote the maximum satisfaction of you, the attendee. A summary follows.

- As in past years, the event is free to attendees and exhibitors. However, unlike past years we no longer have a sweetheart deal on the facility and the rental price is substantially higher. VCFMW, the lead sponsors of this year's event, have established a PayPal donation page to solicit support for the event. You may use the GoFundMe page if you prefer. Supporting the event in this way is completely optional, but appreciated.

- The event is now being held at a new venue which offers full meeting room services and hotel rooms in a single building.

- Presentations and demos will now be held in a dedicated, separate room.

- In order to avoid the occasional harangue over after-party activities, we are renting the meeting space from 8 AM Saturday straight through to 11 PM. Doors may be closed and locked for a dinner break between (approximately) 6 PM and 8 PM, but ECCC has secured the use of the room all evening.

- Come to the show, bring your stuff, walk in. Dealer tables are free. User tables are free. Admission is free. Such a deal. Please note that if space becomes cramped, the Party Council will give priority to those conducting public demos and/or commerce. You may contact the Council to provide guidelines for space requirements, which we will do our best to meet in pre-show planning.

- A number of rooms has been reserved for attendees Friday and Saturday nights at $84 plus whatever hotel taxes various municipal bodies have sneakily applied to soak out-of-town guests. Mention "vintage computer festival" or group code "CCC" when calling 1 (877) 834-3613, or use the above link to reserve with our group rate.

- See you there.

(*) - Like many central planners, our hearts are bigger than our heads. Let that not stop us! Onward to ten years, and beyond!

If you have additional questions you can e-mail the organizer, although what you see is pretty much what you get. We welcome you to e-mail and confirm your attendance, though!
